Job Title: Commercial Electrical Service Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay: $30–$40 per hour
Department: Service
Reports to: Service Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Job Summary:
We are hiring an experienced Commercial Electrical Service Technician in Indianapolis, IN, to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. If you have strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and excellent customer service, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and control systems.
- Use test instruments (voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, circuit tracers, etc.).
- Install and service conduit, control panels, and power distribution cables.
- Read blueprints, determine load requirements, and wire transformers, lighting contactors, and motor starters.
- Ensure job site safety and follow OSHA & NEC regulations.
- Maintain positive customer relations and communicate effectively.
- Operate a company vehicle to complete service calls in the Indianapolis area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma/GED; 4+ years of experience; Master’s or Journeyman’s license.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license, ability to pass an MVR check, background check, drug screening, and post-offer physical ability test.
- Skills: Ability to read blueprints, safety manuals, and wiring schematics. Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- Physical: Lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work on rooftops, in confined spaces, and at heights over 4 ft.
